I forgot that many shops are closed on Wednesday afternoons in West Kirby, but the prom is always a good place for a fresh breeze.  In the days of  Lindisfarne, Deaf School, Nazareth and Magazine, it was my home town.  I studied GCEs at West Kirby Grammar School, A-Levels at Carlett Park and Philosophy in Aberytswyth before leaving West Kirby for my first teaching job in Nigeria. As a teenager I was reprimanded by an older lady for wearing a bikini on the prom.  The weather must have been better than today.
