Today I found out what happens if NatWest has not actually explained a charge clearly. They didn't say, "Yes, we can do that but there is a penalty for changing your mind because you found a better way to invest with us." After not managing to help make the right choice, they didn't say, "Sorry, but we won't charge you for not giving you the best advice."
Life's too short for faffing around with NatWest, who obviously don't care about savers, so the accounts will be closed.
